Ensoul is an easy-to-use tool to help you create iPhone wallpapers, and to add images to your address book contacts on your device.
Through its gorgeous, crystal clear interface Ensoul lets you preview how wallpapers and contact images will appear on the device itself. Ensoul supports the iPhone 4 retina display, as well as older devices.
Select a photo from your hard drive, or from the collection that comes with Ensoul, using the panel on the right-hand side. Alternatively you can drag and drop images from anywhere on your Mac. The image will then be displayed on the interactive iPhone mock-up, giving you a feel for how it will look.
One of the great things about Ensoul is that it allows you to assign full screen images to particular contacts, making gorgeous personalized photos for each of your contacts. Ensoul includes a handy image editor for retouching and optimizing your photos, complete with live preview.
When you've finished crafting your wallpapers and contact images in Ensoul, you can sync them to your iPhone. This is where the fluid user experience breaks apart a bit, as you need to play around with settings in iTunes before syncing. There's an explanation of how to do it in Ensoul's help section, but it's still a bit of an awkward solution. What's more, once the images have been transferred, you still need to set them as the wallpaper on the iPhone device.
